Symptoms: Still tired!
Maternity clothes: Yes!

Sleep: Waking up a couple of times each night to use the bathroom
Best moment this week: When I asked Jolene where the baby is and she touched my belly and then gave it a kiss.  So sweet!
Movement: Getting stronger all the time!
Food cravings: Sour candy
Food aversions: None
Gender: Not yet
Milestones: Baby is the size of a mango.

18 Weeks (Baby #2)


How far along: 18 weeks
Weight: 145 (-3 overall)
Symptoms: Mostly tired.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: I'm sleeping well, I just wish there were more hours available for it.  
(Worst and) Best moment this week: We were in a minor car accident this week (we were the fourth car involved and last to be hit from behind) and I was so happy to hear baby's strong heartbeat at the midwife's office afterward.
Movement: Every day
Food cravings: None
Food aversions: Nothing specific, but I feel like I'm running out of room in there.
Gender: Not yet
Milestones: Baby is the size of a sweet potato.

17 Weeks (Baby #2)

How far along: 17 weeks
Weight: 144 (-4 overall)
Symptoms: My breasts are getting sore again.
Maternity clothes: I just broke out the stretchy panel jeans.  It had more to do with the two regular pairs of jeans being dirty than really needing the extra room though. 
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Great.
Best moment this week: Really feeling the baby wiggle around - no questioning whether I actually felt something or not.
Movement: Baby is wiggling around a lot these days - see above.
Food cravings: None
Food aversions: None
Gender: Not yet
Milestones: Baby is the size of an onion.

16 Weeks (Baby #2)

 

How far along: 16 weeks
Weight: 143.5 (-3.5 overall)
Symptoms: My appetite seems to be returning, which is nice.
Maternity clothes: No
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Great!
Best moment this week: I started canning this week and feel so accomplished when walking though our pantry - apple sauce, apple butter, tomatoes.  I feel so productive (and tired)!
Movement: I feel the baby move every few days.
Food cravings: Root beer

Milestones: Baby is the size of an avocado.

At 16 Months Jolene

At 16 months Jolene...


Was an amazing international traveler

Loves playing on the beach


Adores horses and even went on a carriage ride while in Spain

Can make the correct animal noises for a duck, chicken, bear, and cat


Had her very own ice cream cone in Spain

Climbs the stairs standing up, rather than crawling


Picked her own pumpkin at the pumpkin patch

Helped to pick Grandpa Miller's apples


Has hair that touches her shoulders 

Is incredibly sweet and gives lots of kisses

Symptoms: Still pretty tired - bedtime almost immediately after putting Jolene down for the night.

Sleep: I'm sleeping better now, fewer bathroom breaks at night.
Best moment this week: Hearing baby's heartbeat at my midwife appointment.
Movement: Still feeling flutters.
Food cravings: Salty snacks like pretzels, crackers, etc.

Milestones: Baby is the size of a navel orange.

    10 Weeks (Baby #2)


    How far along: 10 weeks
    Weight: 146 (-2 overall)
    Symptoms: I stopped breastfeeding Jolene recently and my breasts are finally starting to feel pregnancy sore, which I was hoping to skip altogether.  My appetite seems to be returning and I haven't felt nauseous for awhile - yay!
    Maternity clothes: No (although I did buy some new items during the Labor Day sales)
    Stretch marks: No
    Sleep: Normal
    Best moment this week: Hearing our little one's heartbeat during the appointment with my midwife.
    Movement: None
    Food cravings: Ice cream!  Specifically Grandma's Cake Batter by Tillamook.  :)

    9 Weeks (Baby #2)


    How far along: 9 weeks
    Weight: 147 (-1 overall)
    Symptoms: I am feeling quite nauseous these days and incredibly tired.  I almost always take a nap when Jolene does.  I also felt very dizzy the other night and nearly fainted (I say nearly because I didn't lose consciousness).  I ended up falling in Jolene's room pretty hard and woke up my girl, poor thing!  Dustin came to my rescue, got me settled into our bed with some water and everything felt regular again within 15 minutes.  I guess if you stay in one position for too long, your blood will pool and it doesn't know whether to go back to your uterus or brain.  Apparently, it went to my uterus.
    Maternity clothes: No, although I did pick up some cute dresses at Kohl's that were on clearance. 
    Stretch marks: No

    Sleep: Normal


    Best moment this week: Seeing our little one during his or her first ultrasound.  The baby was pretty quiet and finally gave us a little dance toward the end.  The heartbeat was going strong at 180bpm.

    Food aversions: My appetite seems to be coming back which is nice.  My

    8 Weeks (Baby #2)

    Symptoms: I'm still very tired and feel like I need a nap most days.  And, Jolene has been cutting four (!) molars over the last week and her nighttime sleep has been interrupted because of it.  We have a very tired Mama, Dada, and Jolene in this house right now.

    Sleep: Normal
    Best moment this week: Taking Jolene to her first concert.  We saw Jonny Lang at the Portland Zoo on Friday evening.

    Food aversions: Proteins are not appetizi right now.  I start out feeling hungry but by the time I sit down, anything protein on my plate usually looks gross.

    Symptoms: Tired and nauseous.

    Best moment this week: Choosing my health care provider and hospital.  I'm using a midwife this time around and a smaller hospital to minimize interventions.

    Food aversions: Dinner always looks great and then I sit down to my plate and am not hungry anymore.

    Milestones: Baby is
    the size of a blueberry.
