36 Weeks

Dates: Monday, May 23rd – Sunday, May 29th
How far along: 36 weeks
Weight: 163
Symptoms: Tired, but unable to rest well because of hip pain and bathroom breaks in the night.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: None.
Sleep: I sleep for an hour or two at a time, need to switch positions and go to the bathroom.
Best moment this week: Continuing to organize the baby’s room.  We have floor space now!
Movement: I think it’s a knee that keeps poking out from my right side.
Food cravings: Turkey sandwiches still.
Gender: Girl
What I miss: Wine.  Coffee.  Sushi.  Cosmopolitans.
Milestones: The baby is
the size of a crenshaw melon – almost 6 pounds and more than 18-½ inches.

35 Weeks

Dates: Monday, May 16th – Sunday, May 22nd
How far along: 35 weeks
Weight: 160
Symptoms: Very tired, falling asleep on the couch by 8pm normally and then finally heading to bed around 10pm for an 8-hour sleep.  I feel like I need to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes or so.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: I’m waking up every hour or two to switch positions (sore hips) and heading to the bathroom since I’m up.
Best moment this week: I completed our Babies ‘R Us registry on Monday and started washing all of the baby’s things.  The nursery is starting to come together.
Movement: On my right side, just under my ribcage – either a foot or knee.
Food cravings: Turkey sandwiches…I am obsessed!
Gender: Girl
What I miss: Wine.
Milestones: The baby
weighs as much as a honeydew melon (about 5-¼ pounds) and is more than 18 inches long from head to heel.

Baby Shower #2

My Mom and Grammy hosted my second baby shower.  It was so fantastic to spend the afternoon with some of my favorite people!  We received so many amazing gifts and were amazed by everyone's generosity. 




34 Weeks

Dates: Monday, May 9th – Sunday, May 15th
How far along: 34 weeks
Weight: 159.5
Symptoms: Very tired.  Sore hips and back.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: Switching sleeping positions every 1-3 hours.  Needing more sleep.
Best moment this week: We had our second baby shower this week.  Grammy and Mom hosted and it was a lot of fun.
Movement: Big shifting movements.  She pokes her foot into my right side (at least I think that’s her foot).
Food cravings: Root beer.
Gender: Girl
What I miss: Coffee.  Although I had my first decaf drip coffee this week and it was delicious.
Milestones: The baby
weighs as much as a cantaloupe, about 4-¾ pounds, and measures almost 18 inches from head to heel.

33 Weeks

Dates: Monday, May 2nd – Sunday, May 8th
How far along: 33 weeks
Weight: 159.5
Symptoms: Very tired.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: I’m starting to wake up regularly for bathroom breaks and to switch sleeping positions.
Best moment this week: We started our childbirth preparation course this week.  It was great to learn about mother/father interaction during this important time.  The baby is also head down, which is exciting, as long as she doesn’t decide to flip. 
Movement: Big shifting movements.
Food cravings: Grape popsicles.
Gender: Girl
What I miss: Coffee, wine.
Milestones: The baby
weighs as much as a pineapple, a little over 4 pounds, and is more than 17 inches long from head to heel.

32 Weeks

Dates: Monday, April 25th – Sunday, May 1st
How far along: 32 weeks
Weight: 159
Symptoms: Very tired lately.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: None
Sleep: Same bathroom breaks at night.
Best moment this week: I had my first baby shower on Saturday, April 30th.  The baby received a lot of love from family and friends, including Johanna, my old college roommate.
Movement: Lots of big, shifting moves.
Food cravings: Cake.
Gender: Girl
What I miss: Wine.  Sushi.
Milestones: The baby weighs as much as a jicama, about 3-¾ pounds, and measure about 16-¾ inches from head to heel.
