Symptoms: Lack of energy.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Hard to get comfortable at night.
Best moment this week: Monday, January 24th, was our 10-year anniversary.  It’s so exciting that we’re welcoming our first child this year!
Movement: Maybe?
Food cravings: None.
Gender: Not yet.
What I miss: Coffee.  My energy.
Milestones: The baby is
the size of an heirloom tomato – 6 inches from head to bottom and 8-½ ounces.

18 Weeks

Dates: Monday, January 17th – Sunday, January 23rd
How far along: 18 weeks
Weight: 136
Symptoms: Lack of energy.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Hard to get comfortable at night.
Best moment this week: Celebrating Dustin’s birthday and knowing that 29 will be a great year for him – graduation, career, fatherhood!
Movement: Maybe?
Food cravings: Lots of fruit.
Gender: Not yet.
What I miss: Coffee.  My energy.
Milestones: The baby is
the length of a bell pepper – 5-½ inches from head to bottom and almost 7 ounces.

17 Weeks

Dates: Monday, January 10th – Sunday, January 16th 
How far along: 17 weeks
Weight: 135
Symptoms: Appetite has increased in the last week. I’m still very tired and feel like I need a nap every day.
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Waking up 1-3 times per night to use the bathroom. Hips get sore from sleeping on side and sleeping on back is getting uncomfortable.
Best moment this week: Making up songs and singing them to the baby with Dustin.
Movement: Unsure. I feel pressure for 10-20 seconds a few times each day, but I’m not sure if it’s the baby.
Food cravings: Nothing specific, although I’ve had ice cream a few times this week (milk shake, root beer floats).
Gender: As long as the baby is cooperating, we should find out February 2nd, 2011. A few family members and friends think it’s a girl.
What I miss: My energy.
Milestones: The baby weighs 5 ounces, as much as a turnip, and is 5 inches long from head to bottom.

16 Weeks

Dates: Monday, January 3rd – Sunday, January 9th
How far along: 16 weeks
Weight: 134
Symptoms: Lack of energy.  Sensitive breasts.
Maternity clothes: I started wearing my maternity jeans this week.
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Hips are sore from sleeping on my side.
Best moment this week: Hearing the baby’s heartbeat for the first time.  I also announced my pregnancy to work and everyone took it well, which was a relief.
Movement: None, I think.
Food cravings: I’ve eaten a lot of pickles this week – Dustin made me buy two jars the next time we went to the store.
Gender: Not yet.
What I miss: Coffee.  My energy.
Milestones: The baby is
the size of an avocado – 4.5 inches long from head to bottom and 3.5 ounces.

How far along: 15 weeks

Symptoms: Heavy breasts.  Nausea.  Lack of energy.
Maternity clothes: No
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Normal
Best moment this week: Celebrating on New Year’s Eve, knowing that our first child will be born in the coming year!
Movement: None
Food cravings: None
Gender: Not yet
What I miss: Coffee
Milestones: The baby is the size of an apple and weighs about 2-½ ounces.
